installing wordpress

does not work. this is the message I get: Error establishing a database connection

Have you created a database for wordpress to use? I recommend creating a user that has read and write access to just this database, and pass that user credentials to wordpress. You'll need to give wordpress the database name, and database username and password credentials in the wp-config file.
