Installing WP locally....help pls!

Hi there, I'm rattling my brain trying to figure out what's wrong with this.

After migrating the Wordpress files to the "localwp.com" and setting up the database, when I go to browser and localhost, I click on the directory link for "localwp.com", and it doesn't have the configuration menu, it just has in <h1>, "Index of /localwp.com", and under it a redirect to "parent directory".

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I hope my explanation was transparent enough.

I understand you are using xampp or mamp ?

You should have a folder in localhost containing all the wp files. This for you is "localwp.com" ?

You should browse to it like, localhost/localwp.com/

Oh, yes, PC, I am using XAMPP.

Oh jeez, I went to check the hierarchy of the files, it was sites/localwp.com/, I was playing around with trying to redirect the default from htdocs to my new folder sites and forgot half way through that I couldn't figure out how in the XAMPP preferences to do this and kept on with the lesson, I changed the upload to htdocs and it worked.

That. Is. Hilarious.
