You have an error in this string:

photoHTML =+ '<img src="' + photo.media.m + '"></a></li>';

Instead of =+ use +=

Thank you. I have been searching for it for days. How did I miss that!!

You are welcome :blush: But nevertheless I suggest you rewrite your code like this one:

$(document).ready(function () {
    $('button').click(function () {
        $('button').removeClass('selected');
        $(this).addClass("selected");
        var flickerAPI = "https://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?jsoncallback=?",
            animal = $(this).text(),
            flickrOptions = {
                tags: animal,
                format: "json"
            };
        function displayPhotos(data) {
            var items = data.items.reduce(function (sum, current) {
                return sum
                    + '<li class="grid-25 tablet-grid-50">'
                    + '    <a href="' + current.link + '" class="image">'
                    + '        <img src="' + current.media.m + '">'
                    + '    </a>'
                    + '</li>';
            }, '');
            $('#photos').html('<ul>' + items + '</ul>');
        };

        $.getJSON(flickerAPI, flickrOptions, displayPhotos);
  });
});

It looks a little bit clearer :wink:
