iOS Build a Diary App Using Core Data Custom UITableViewCell UIAppearance to Customize the Navigation Bar

iOS 7 navigationBar.appearance is no longer valid with Xcode 6.1.1

The default appearance is now a transparent tint so the definition in the video appears as a washed out pale blue. You also can no longer pick Opaque Black as it is deprecated in the StatusBarStyle. Leave it as default. Then use the following code in AppDelegate.m

  • (void)setUpAppearance {

UINavigationBar *navigationBar = [UINavigationBar appearance];

navigationBar.barTintColor = [UIColor colorWithRed:77.0/255.0 green:164.0/255.0 blue:191.0/255.0 alpha:1.0f];

navigationBar.tintColor = [UIColor whiteColor];

navigationBar.titleTextAttributes = @{NSForegroundColorAttributeName: [UIColor whiteColor]};

}
