Is it fine to use XAMPP instead of downloading mySQL seperately?

If it works it works right?

Just use xampp. If you going to download mysql seperate it's going to break. So. Just try to follow everything with phpmyadmin. Trust me you'll do this in cpanel in the job world. ;)
