is there a problem with my code? [Solved]

my code works in pycharm, which is the IDE i use to test before submitting answers to get error messages more clearly. I dont know if I was expected to use the ** method to pack in the function or if im missing something. any help would be appreciated

wordcount.py
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.
def word_count(sentence):
    sentence=sentence.lower()
    words=sentence.split(' ')
    result = dict((word,words.count(word))for word in words)
    return result

For the benefit of other readers, to split on "all whitespace" the argument to "split" should be either left empty or set to None.
