Is there a way to do this without Jquery at all?

I'm A javascript Guy, so I'm wondering if there's a way to do this without Jquery at all? I'm just interested to know it cause i'm buliding a player for My internet Radio and I don't like to relying on a Libary.

I'm wondering if there's a way to do this without Jquery at all? - everything done with jQuery can be done with plain JavaScript.
