Yes it is. Ubuntu uses per default bash.

There are different shells outthere and Bash is probably the most popular one. When you hit Ctrl+Alt+T a window will open, and Ubuntu's default shell is Bash. In the teamtreehouse videos an ubuntu server is used, so the course also describes bash. But don't worry about these details for now, they are all covered nicely in the course. So in short the course is suitable with ubuntu. ;) Enjoy
