Is using %n the same as using \n in a formatted string?

I couldn't help but notice that Craig ended each String with %n in this video rather than the \n I've noticed we've been using so far and it complied. Do they do the same thing? Is one preferable to another?

Hi Dave,

They are not quite the same; consult the docs here.

Using %n generates a platform-specific newline so is the preferred option to use.
