It is unclear to me from the video where style.css is copied from?

It is unclear to me from the video where style.css is copied and pasted from. I at first tried to do accomplish by copying and pasting from wordpress > twentyfourteen > style.css into the child theme folder, but the file did not take on any of the child theme information that the video demonstrates.

The code he pastes is code that he already wrote. if you are creating a child theme, you should have the style.css file available and should have the parents themes styles.
