Java

Java: This variable to change the first name in my format strings is not working. Can anyone point out why, please?

console.printf("Hello, my name is %s\n", firstName);
console.printf("%s is learning how to write Java\n", firstName);
console.printf("%s can code in Java!\n", firstName);

// Below is a string variable to change the first name in every string (that's the data type) that has been written.
String firstName = "Craig";

Pretty sure you need to define the variable name prior to using it. Move all of the console.printf statements to after you've defined what firstName is and see if you get different results.

Ken.

Thank you so much, Ken Alger! The variable is working smoothly now, thanks to your advice.
