Can someone help me on setting the value in jquery? Have been struggling through most of this teachers lessons. I can't figure out how to set the value of #fullName to the var from the user prompt.
//Show Prompt Window and store value
var fullName = prompt("What is your full name?");
//Select Input with the id of #fullName
$("#fullname").val$("fullName");
//Insert value in to full name input
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
</head>
<body>
<label for="fullName">Full Name</label><input id="fullName" name="fullName" value="" disabled>
<script src="//code.jquery.com/jquery-1.11.0.min.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script>
<script src="js/app.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script>
</body>
</html>

Your call to val has an unnecessary $ in it (val()
not val$()
). Remove the $ and it should work.

22,547 PointsOk, after going over everything again very slowly and analyzing all the code, I figured out all my ?'s. Thanks for the input Andrew, I had to take out the $ and also not enter the var as a string into the value. $("#fullname").val(fullName);

22,547 PointsI tried taking the jquery reference "$" out of the code and it still doesn't work. I'm having trouble figuring out how to take the value stored in the var fullName (from the user prompt) and use jquery to plug that into the label tag for fullName in the HTML? I also don't get what part of that label tag in the HTML has to be manipulated in order to add that information? We did a similar thing in the lesson using .val but that was for making the value of one var match another var. It adds much more confusion when we are using .val to set the value of a label for an associated id tag.
