what does strong mean ? does it mean bold like in html

Yes, it means "bold"

it works just fine, try to copy this line document.write("<h1><strong>Welcome to my site</strong></h1>")

not sure if im too late to the answer party...

but make sure you are placing your code in-between the <script></script> tags. this is known as Inline Script, but is not recommended in most cases. look into External Script, and then linking it to your html file with a <script src=""></script> tag

you had it placed after your closing </script> tag.
