Keyboard layout: the keyboard layout seems different from the normal Qwerty. Is there a layout map?

When I entered Delete it gave me backspace... kind of.

when you say delete, did you press the actual delete button? or the backspace key. backspace erases to the left, while the delete key will erase to the right

You might want to try pressing the backspace button to erase to the left.
