Well, it could be a little bit smoother. Search for web user interfaces and try to reproduce. This will improve your design abilities and you will learn a lot.

Something about this feels really harsh to look at it and it's possibly because of the background and text color choice. In the center of the page the orange text feels fine against the brighter red but as the background get's darker the contrast to the bright color of the text is hard to look at. If the dark red areas of the background were further from the text and sat more along the edges of the page, leaving the page mostly the brighter red colors I think it would be more visually appealing and comfortable to look at.
