It would probably be most helpful if you described exactly where you are getting stuck, or where you feel the video is falling short, so that the specifics can help Treehouse address the issue, if there is in fact an issue.

Hey guys,

One thing I found helpful is to pause the video at the beginning and take a look at the variables that are in the index file before I start. Even if you don't do this the errors that you will get in your workspaces page will give you good information as to why its not working.

I got an error on this part as well but from the error found that I wasn't declaring my variable for $role first so when I was using it in the if statement and attempting to echo that out I got the error. I think the reason we don't go over setting the variables on each video is because we have gone over those dependencies in earlier modules and can learn by making mistakes then taking the troubleshooting steps to fix them ourselves.
