Local space and global space,

i cannot swith between global space and local space, when i click on the button, it says "tool handles are in active object's rotation". ANybody help me something wront with this

I'm sure you've discovered the answer to this by now, but for the benefit of anyone else the Global/Local option is unavailable when you have the 'Scale' tool selected. Simply change to any other tool (shortcut key Q, W or E) and the Global/Local option will become available.
