Got activated XAMP, everything and port number is fine, but still can't get into localhost, says: This site can’t be reached

localhost refused to connect. Did you mean http://locallhost.com/? Search Google for localhost ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED Any Answer please?

I presume your assessment that it's running is based on the xampp control panel. I know it sounds dumb to ask, but i remember thinking something had gone wrong with xampp when i first started to use it - checking the port in the settings etc. With me, i had issues with xampp shutting down once it found skype had locked up a particular port. (sorry if this is obvious, but treehouse users differ a lot in terms of their technical expertise).

Did you try http://localhost ? In some browsers, if you type in simply localhost, it will try to Google the word "localhost". Also, make sure XAMP is running when you try to view the localhost on your browser.
