LogCat not showing error

I am following Android Development course by Ben Jakuben, in topic "Getting Data From an Intent". The logcat should show NULLPOINTEREXCEPTION as it is shown in the video, before,

if(name=null) { name = "friend";} ,

was entered. However, my logcat does not show the error.

Hi there,

The error in the video is caused by the key nae being deliberately mis-typed; Ben uses "Name" rather than "name".

Have you changed the key to use an incorrect one to pre-empt this error message?

Steve.
