Courses Plus Student 3,256 Pointsloss of index.html doc gets deleted when img folder is created
How do I add the img folder without deleting my index.html document? When I add this folder, and drag the uploaded images here, I no longer see my index.html on the tree view. I'm able to create a new html doc and paste my work that I saved in a notepad. Ideally i'd like to be able to make new folders or files without having previously-created ones deleted. Thank you very much for your help

Treehouse Moderator 145,860 PointsHey Michelle,
Without physically seeing what is happening directly on your computer, this one is almost impossible to troubleshoot for you, because what you are describing should not be happening in any circumstance.
I'm assuming you are talking about Workspaces, which does work very much like many of the more common Text Editors. You'd create a new file/folder either by right-clicking in the File Tree or by going under File > New Folder (etc).
From there you should be able to copy/paste files or drag/drop file anywhere you want without affecting any of the other files already present. I honestly cannot think of any scenario that a file/folder would be lost by adding another file/folder.
If you are in Workspaces, try right-clicking in the tree and selecting "Refresh" (but I don't think that's the issue).
I'm sorry I couldn't be more help. For now, maybe select the file you want from the finder and copy... then just paste the file in the tree instead of drag/drop. If this is Treehouse's Workspace, and it still happens, contact the Treehouse Support Team and hopefully they will be able to figure this out for you.
Keep Coding! :)
