I'm pretty good at WordPress and making theme out of them but when it comes to selling products. It's not a shopping CMS platform and any plugin that trys to make it one just does not work that well.
I got a job last month for a company that I would going to design theme for there websites. But when I started they jump me on Magento which I've never heard until I started the just. Learn it pretty well. I'm an expert at anyway but I can customize themes and update and change products easy.
There is a lot more money in store websites and the ones like Squarespace, Shopify and Volusion are close source and can't really handle big product line. Even though Magento has been lagging on update side of things. I would love to learn how to design Magento like with WordPress.

39,199 PointsYeah in terms of a CMS for ecommerce, Magento looks like a pretty good choice.
Level Up Tuts has a pretty good Magento course

23,869 PointsI just started into a job. In the new company I will be developing magento plugins. Although there is already LevelUpTuts the material out there is very sparse and I am having a hard time learning it. I would really appreciate if Teamtreehouse would pickup this topic and would do some tutorials on how to get startet with Magento development (which is really hard).

Courses Plus Student 21,100 PointsI applied for a job (thanks Treehouse), as a Front-End Developer and they offer free capacitation on Magento. When exploring the Meetup community, I realized that there are better solutions than WordPress and some of the more experienced developers made me feel a little bit naive for using WP. Like if WP was something like using Dreamweaver for Web Development.
However, I really enjoy Treehouse courses. Thanks for the links.
