Main.css not applying, even from downloaded project files.

The main.css file does not seem to be applying. I doubled check my syntax/spelling to see what I might be doing wrong but could not find the error. I then tried downloading the project files, deleting the existing index.html and main.css files from the workspace, and uploading the files that I had just downloaded from treehouse. The css styling still does not take affect. I'm currently running in Chrome. Is there a know issue?

Can you show us how you are linking to the main.css file in your html code?

So I've pasted the code below. My first thought was that I made a path error but after troubleshooting for a bit I tried deleting my index.html and main.css files and replacing them with the files downloaded in the project files zip but this had no effect. The css still isn't applying.

<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>Nick Pettit | Designer</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/normalize.css"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/main.css"> </head> <body> <header> <a href="index.html"> <h1>Nick Pettit</h1> <h2>Designer</h2> </a> <nav> <ul> <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li> <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li> <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li> </ul> </nav> </header> <div id="wrapper"> <section> <ul> <li> <a href="img/numbers-01.jpg"> <img src="img/numbers-01.jpg" alt=""> <p>Experimentation with color and texture.</p> </a> </li> <li> <a href="img/numbers-02.jpg"> <img src="img/numbers-02.jpg" alt=""> <p>Playing with blending modes in Photoshop.</p> </a> </li> <li> <a href="img/numbers-06.jpg"> <img src="img/numbers-06.jpg" alt=""> <p>Trying to create an 80's style of glows.</p> </a> </li> <li> <a href="img/numbers-09.jpg"> <img src="img/numbers-09.jpg" alt=""> <p>Drips created using Photoshop brushes.</p> </a> </li> <li> <a href="img/numbers-12.jpg"> <img src="img/numbers-12.jpg" alt=""> <p>Creating shapes using repetition.</p> </a> </li> </ul> </section> <footer> <a href="http://twitter.com/nickrp"><img src="img/twitter-wrap.png" alt="Twitter Logo"></a> <a href="http://facebook.com/nickpettit"><img src="img/facebook-wrap.png" alt="Facebook Logo"></a> <p>© 2014 Nick Pettit.</p> </footer> </div> </body> </html>

Update: I pulled the code off of the Treehouse Workspace and duplicated the project on my desktop. All the code works as expected. The problem seems to be in the Workspace.
