Managing Orders in WooCommerce - regarding the test email

Hi,

I have set up my test just as Zac in the video (seeing as my email is also with Google). For whatever reason the test fails and I've yet to figure out why. Do you have any ideas why this might happen and how I might be able to remedy it?

Thanks, Amsandra

Where are you hosting this? Locally?

You also need to make sure you have SMTP enabled in Google.

Thank you Zac for your reply and thanks for a great course :) Yes, I am hosting it locally right now, using MAMP. Could you explain to me how to enable it in Google?

Hi Amsandra,

I had trouble setting it up with my free gmail account, but succeeded when I tried with my Google Apps account. Not really sure why this is, though.

Hey there, I know this post is quite old, but I've got some similar issues with the WP MAIL plugin, I'm working locally. I tried to send an e-mail as test several times, and everytime It failed! However, after few minutes I got an e-mail from G-mail telling they blocked some attempts to connect to my Google account. In this mail, they gave me the choice to change some settings letting less protected applications to access my google account, I just checked this checkbox, and now that works. So I guess these settings can be changed directly without getting this warning.
