MASH: Why won't my style (background color, opacity, text size, text alignment, etc.) change when I update the code?

I just finished the digital literacy track thinking it would help clarify my issues, but now I've forgotten where stopped working (LOL). Practically from the beginning when I copied the MASH code for the predictor/game website, none of the elements I changed took effect when I refreshed the browser. This includes, but is not limited to the background color, text size, font; opacity, border edges of page, text alignments (left/center, etc). I also don't know how to run the code to pick answers (to successfully run the code/loop/function), but don't recall that being addressed in the Digital literacy track so understand if that is mentioned in another track. I also don't know how to properly post my code since this is my first forum post but will try in upcoming comments.
