Media queries not reacting at the correct width

When I created a media query for the navigation at the bottom of the page with a min-width of 730px the change in my browser happens at 714px. The same thing happens with the box-model image. My media query is created to change at 600px, but the change actually happens at 582px. Why is the change happening at a lower width than the one I specified?
