im not sure what they want me to do here, this is what it tells me to do "Update the variable of 'quickLength' on line 18, to assign the length of the string 'quick'." this is what I put var quick = whole.substr (0,5); the variable that they have is var quicklength = quick;
the err is your forgot .length

I think, you forgot to add the length property. You need to update the code like this: var quickLength = quick.length;
