Mockups & Design

Was Sketch was used for the design mockups (i.e. it is teacher's notes)? How do you enjoy using it?

What other programs have people used for mockups and/or design mockups?

For mockups, I've used Mockup Builder, Balsamic (plugin for JIRA), and everyone's favorite, paper/whiteboard.

The paper is great when brainstorming or explaining an idea quickly, but for those of us who don't draw, I prefer the other two any day of the week if I am going to share that idea with a bunch of people. Both that I mentioned have enough Android templates to get a rough idea in.

hey John Coffin, I am pretty exclusively a photoshop guy. However there are other designers on our team who use Sketch and design purely in the browser. I'd recommend just sticking with the tool you are most comfortable and efficient with. That's how I feel with PS, it's what I know and what I can be efficient in. But don't be afraid to break your rhythm up a bit with new tools, the tech industry moves fast and you gotta stay flexible.

For the Ribbit mockups I worked completely in PS, but relied very heavily on the official android docs and a android toolkit I downloaded. It was a blast.

I think Matthew Spiel used Photoshop, but perhaps he can chime in here. :)

Sketch is awesome, though! I recently came across this Sketch Android Kit that looks pretty cool, though I haven't used it to say.
