Modifying overlay

So I've been following a course on how to make a lightbox, and the difference between gallery displayed here and gallery that I have is that my gallery has more bigger images And it's scrollable. Now with "position: absolute" image that's clicked appears on top of my page. I want it to appear where scroll bar is, where the user is at that particular moment. How can I do that?
