The instructions ask only for the first and last 4 characters, the challenge is not expecting the last 4 to be in reverse order. Try keeping the original order.

Example:

first_and_last_4("hockeypuck")   # should be "hockpuck", (not "hockkcup").

Also, for the challenge you only need to define the functions. You won't need to call them, or print anything.
