MySQL and the command line

Just did the database course and everything made sense. In the course we use mysql workbench. Can I use the command line to interact with the sql server? do i need to install something else to do so? I'm on a mac btw.

Also if anyone has any further resources about sql and database please share it would be greatly appreciated.

Diue to my knowledge I don't think you need to download anything extra, just make sure as you're on a MAC that you download the Mac veision of the SQL software you get :-)
