Need a hint

I feel like Im close but am clearly missing something crucial.

disemvowel.py 
def disemvowel(word):
    letters = ['a','e','i','o','u','A','E','I','O','U']
    for letter in letters:
        try:
            word.remove(letter)
        except ValueError:
            pass
    return word

Just create a list of the word. The .remove () method can not delete from a string.
