  // A String representing all of the tiles that this player has
  private String tiles;

  public ScrabblePlayer() {

  }

  public void addTile(char tile) {
    // TODO: Add the tile to tiles
    tiles += tile;

  }

  public boolean hasTile(char tile) {
    // TODO: Determine if user has the tile passed in
    if hasTile  {

To determine if the user already has a tile you should use the indexOf method on the String tiles. The indexOf method returns the index of the string where the character resides.

For more information: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/lang/String.html#indexOf(java.lang.String)

return tiles.indexOf(tile) != -1;

that worked. thanks. Not sure if I am cut out for coding. I would never have thought of that solution
