Android Build an Interactive Story App (Retired) Intents and Multiple Activities Getting Data from an Intent

Need help with getting data from Intent (Android)

import android.os.Bundle;

public class FlightActivity extends Activity {

public int mFuelLevel = 0;

@Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_flight);

// Add your code below!
Intent intent = getIntent();
mFuelLevel = intent.getShortExtra("FUEL_LEVEL", -1);

} }

I dont understand why i keep getting a compiler error on the above code.

FlightActivity.java
import android.os.Bundle;

public class FlightActivity extends Activity {

  public int mFuelLevel = 0;

  @Override
  protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
    super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
    setContentView(R.layout.activity_flight);

    // Add your code below!
    Intent intent = getIntent();
    mFuelLevel = intent.getShortExtra("FUEL_LEVEL", -1);

  }
}

Everything looks good but try getIntExtra instead of getShortExtra. The answer is looking for an int not a short which is the return value for getShortExtra. Hope this helps.

It worked... thanks a lot for the help
