Android Android Fragments Introducing Fragments Handling Clicks

Need help with part 2 of Handling Clicks challenge

It gives a compiler error. I don't know what to do

NewsFragment.java
public class NewsFragment extends Fragment {

   public interface NewsListener {
        void onNewsItemSelected(int index);
    }

    @Override
    public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) {
        View view = inflater.inflate(R.layout.fragment_news, container, false);
        return view;
    }
}
MainActivity.java
public class MainActivity extends AppCompatActivity implements NewsFragment.NewsListener {

    @Override
    public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
        super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
        setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);

        NewsFragment fragment = new NewsFragment();
        FragmentManager fragmentManager = getFragmentManager();
        FragmentTransaction fragmentTransaction = fragmentManager.beginTransaction();
        fragmentTransaction.add(R.id.placeholder, fragment);
        fragmentTransaction.commit();
    }

}

There are two parts of implementing an interface. You have one, using implements in the class line. The other is creating the methods in the class.

Thank you very much Seth.

please elaborate a bit on your answer Mr seth

Since you asked: the onNewsItemSelected() method needs to be created and filled in inside the MainActivity class.
