Nesting of GridPane

In the video, Text, Button and other stuff were put inside GridPane and the code for them was also written in between the GridPane. But can we put the code for Text, Button etc outside the GridPane tag and make it do the same thing?

You cannot put nodes outside the Parent Layout.

You always need a Default Parent layout which by the way can be any layout i.e. VBox ,BordrPane etc.
