Hello everybody! My name is Bo, and I'm the Director of Marketing and Production here at Treehouse. Here are my LinkedIn and Twitter links. I'd love to connect with you.

My favorite time to learn is at night, after dinner. It's when I have the most focus and clarity, and I can get a lot of uninterrupted focus time in. Right now I'm learning a lot about car maintenance and servicing - I just (successfully!) replaced my fuel pump. There's nothing like the feeling of learning something new and putting it into practice.

Other than that, looking forward to an exciting few months ahead at Treehouse. Stay tuned about some fun projects and events coming soon.

Looking forward to connecting with y'all and hope you have a great Thursday ahead 🌞

My favorite time to learn is pretty much any free time I get. I'm Anthony, I'm 29 and have been working in retail/customer service most of my professional life. I am looking to become a web developer. I love playing video games, watching movies, hanging out with friends, and traveling when I can.

Hey everybody!

My name is Jérôme and I think this is a great opportunity to get a few connections. I feel like learning with a group is way more stimulating and I would gladly accept a few people in my programming circle!

Here are my answer to the questions:

1- Answer the icebreaker activity – What are your favorite times to learn? I would say during the morning is prime time for productivity.

2- Introduce yourself

I'm a 26 years old, I really like plants and art. I draw a lot and I started last year to take analog photos. I'm currently living with 9 people in a big cottage-like house. We jam together and maintaining a big garden. We've build a greenhouse and a chicken coop and we now own 12 chickens! It's against the municipality's laws, but whatever right? ;)

3- Share your LinkedIn profile URL for other students to connect to Here's my LinkedIn. I recently updated it and haven't really used it since I have it.

4- Share links and/or screenshots of the projects you've been working on

I'm really working on getting better at programming. I can share a few of my art projects !

5- Share your interests, hobbies, etc I guess I already talked about this a little bit, but art takes most of my free time. I'm developing photos, playing guitare/bass, jogging, medidating and drawing. Chat with other students here by responding to their posts

Hello forumsphere and fellow treefroggers*! I have been a coder for 25+ years now - off-n-on and have been studying with Treehouse since 2017, and recently became a Treehouse forum moderator. Anyway, not being a morning person I study best starting in the early afternoon and often will go as late as 2:00am (especially if I am debugging or on an inspired productivity roll)!?!

*(Is that the right expression!?! LOL)

I recently got a side-hustle as the primary NorCal distributor for Jeff's Famous Jerky arguably the best beef, bacon, and turkey jerky in the world with 22 AMAZING flavors so far! (A gig I hope will make retirement much more pleasant and smoother/easier!?!) One recommended flavor: Honey-Glazed Black Pepper Sriracha Bacon Jerky (Sweet & Spicey!?!) Also, the Black Pepper & Sea Salt flavor took first place in a 6-week 64-brand tasting competition!!!

If you have not seen it, I HIGHLY recommend Resident Alien on the Sci-Fi channel. It is one of the FUNNIEST TV shows I have seen in ages (the cast and writing are both fabulous/fantastic!?!) Next week they will air the 10th and final episode of season one - can't wait!

My favorite online-only radio station: https://legacy.radioparadise.com/rp_2.php#name=Home

My LinkedIn profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/peter-vann-abb35649/

My fun spin on the classic Simon Game coding challenge: https://codepen.io/petrovnikov/full/MXxQPx

A freelance website I recently coded, pretty much from scratch using almost entirely vanilla JS and PHP (and a little JQuery) that just when live: https://www.moneyband.org/

Anyway, nice to be part of the community!?!

Stay safe and happy coding!

-Pete

Congratulations on replacing your fuel pump! What a feat! I enjoy learning new things as well.

Nice job on your fuel pump! I remember the first time I learned how to change my oil in my car. I was so proud of that accomplishment and it made me appreciate my car even more.

Thank you Jason Williamson ! I would be lying if I didn't admit it was stressful trying to diagnose the issue and then install a fuel pump for the first time. But like Erika Davis said well - it's made me appreciate the car even more.

Hello everybody! Happy Networking Thursday!

I'm terrible at introducing myself so I'll do my best! lol

  2. Introduce yourself My name is Alejandra and I'm NEW to coding. It's challenging to learn by yourself and often I get frustrated when dealing with syntax errors, challenges, etc you know what I mean... don't you?? lol :)) But I really like Treehouse teaching system with videos and quizzes helps me remember and put to work what I'm learning so that it sticks in my brain lol! I love Treehouse!

Hello, Alex! I am happy that you are starting your journey into coding! There will be moments when you are overjoyed with what you create, but also times when you don't understand why certain things do not work. It is all part of the process! Would love to connect with you! And have a nicee weekend!!

Hello everybody! My name is Matt, and about a week ago, I started the front end development track on Treehouse.

My favorite time to learn is early in the morning, simply because it's the only resemblance of "quiet time" at all in my current living situation. It's when I have the most focus and clarity, and I can get a lot of uninterrupted focus time in before I go to my day job as a courier driver.

Prior to finally taking action on my desire to learn to code, my attention was focused on my side-hustle of working as a content creator or "creative agency" for influencers and online brands! I design landing pages (Sketch, ClickFunnels, Kajabi), video editing, videography, photography, podcasting, and short-form social media creative for my clients.

As for my personal hobbies, I am an enormous fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. #ChampaBay

Other than that, I am looking forward to the next chapter of my career after becoming experienced with software development.

Please connect with me and let's chat! I would love to find a coding buddy to learn with + maybe there is a brand seeing this post that I could help in some way with my creative skills 😄

Let's talk! https://www.linkedin.com/in/mattkraig/

For people who are interested in your experience as a content creator, can you share briefly what you enjoy and dislike when you were doing this work? I am particularly curious about podcasting and what goes into making a podcast. Thank you for sharing!

Hi All!

My favorite time to learn is first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, I can only do so on weekends, due to work during the week. During the week, I set aside some time in the evenings or late night, to get some learning done.

My name is Toye. I recently switched from a career in audit/compliance to tech. I'm currently doing front end dev work. I'm working on learning the full stack via the Fullstack JavaScript Techdegree.

I'm happy to connect with anyone on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/toye-ogundepo-1bb416151/

When I'm not working/learning, I love spending time with my family, playing basketball, and discovering new music.

Hi Toye! I also love to discover new music! When I hear some new sounds somewhere, I love to find out who's the artist, and one way I can do that is by going on Spotify! What music genre are you into right now? Can you share some good tracks that you listened to lately?

My favorite time to learn is late afternoon and early evening. From 4PM to 6PM

I'm Sarah. I'm an academic at heart. A habitual student learning and improving my metacognition. Also, I am interested in improving my understanding of computer science. Data structures and algorithms across multiple programming languages enthralls me.

https://www.linkedin.com/in/sametxa/

I am currently working on my first project which is building a portfolio website of all current and future projects. See my linkedin profile for more information.  I'm so thrilled to start sharing more of myself and documenting my journey with all of you.

For the longest time I've had the wrong perceptions on math. I had a math phobia. In the past I dislike math only because I had poor self image in my own abilities to master mathematics and I didn't have the motivation or support from my peers to enable me to be confident in mastering it.

Now my perception has changed. I like that doing math problems creates new neural pathways and expands cognitive capabilities in the brain.

I love the learning process and find joy in the challenge of it.

Thank you for sharing your path on learning math and cs! Your story reminds me of how I used to feel about cs, but I made a choice to enjoy learning it. I could've done anything else, but I thought to myself: If I can do this, I will definitely have a stronger will by the end of the process, and then I can apply that same mindset to learning many other things. I really appreciate your opening up on your own experience. We all have our struggle, but, by sharing it with others, the journey has become more bearable and enjoyable. Would love to be connected with you! And have a wonderful day!

Hello everyone! I miss this week's Networking event, but decide to come by today anyway.

  1. What are my favorite times to learn? I like the afternoon from 1 pm to 4pm, but recently have also tried morning times (6 - 9am) and I must say it's not bad. I just have to sleep early.

  2. Introduce myself My name is Qui. I started learning Computer Science when I was in college, and I stuck by it ever since. Now, I am reinforcing my fundamental knowledge in Computer Science as well as learning new things in Data Science field.

  3. Share my LinkedIn profile URL I am happy to become part of your network. It is always more exciting to get to know someone and to be able to learn/work together on all things. Thank you for connecting! Here is my profile.

  4. Share links and/or screenshots of the projects Currently, I am not doing a project because I would like to understand CS concepts better. I am just more focused on learning as of this moment. I will update as soon as I have something.

  5. Share your interests, hobbies In my free time, I like to play the piano. The sound just makes my day sweeter overall. I also like writing and documenting my thoughts/feelings. Here is my blog. I have not made a new post lately.

Hopefully, you all have a beautiful weekend! Take care!

Hi! This is my first networking event on Treehouse.

  1. What are my favorite times to learn? I work at a casino from 4:30am-2:00pm and usually study from 3:00pm to about 6:00pm each day. On days off, I typically start around 10:00am and study until around 4:00pm.

  2. Introduce Myself. My name is Tyler. I am a mostly self-taught web developer with a Certificate in Web Development from Glendale Community College. I have studied front-end for roughly three years now, and hope to find my first position as a front-end web developer soon! Currently I am studying the basics of React, and plan to move on to Node.js so I may have some backend knowledge. In the future, I plan to learn the rest of the MERN stack to become a full-stack developer!

  3. Share my LinkedIn profile URL. I am always happy to network with other developers and see what I can learn or what knowledge I can share. Here is my profile.

  4. Share links and/or screenshots of the projects Currently I am reinforcing the basics of React to build a simple public chatroom where users can post messages anonymously, or select a username. Right now, since I know nothing about backend, the app is front-end only, and does not store any data, or allow users to connect and send live chats. Foreword Prototype

  5. Share your interests, hobbies During my free time, I like to play video games, Dungeons & Dragons, and Magic: The Gathering with my friends, research computer parts and plan PC builds, and listen to loud rock music such as Green Day, Linkin Park, or Breaking Benjamin.

hey everyone! i find this networking thursday quite ineffective and im thinking of making an unofficial slack channel for fellow treehouse students to network, if you're interested just reply this!
