Also, don't forget to include semicolon at the end of your statements :), so your statements 

.content {
 transition-property: color, background
 transition-duration: 0.004s, 0.005s
}

should be 

.content {
 transition-property: color, background;
 transition-duration: 0.004s, 0.005s;
}

instead.
