no direct path?

When I try saving my text editor document (index.php) under MAMP>HTDOCS then refresh the page, it does not take me directly to the page("test") like in the video, but instead shows a link providing a pathway to the page(index.php.test) that I must click on to get to the page. How can I get it to bring me directly to the page?
