HTML How to Make a Website Creating HTML Content Create Navigation with Lists

Not sure where to put the Navagation link

I keep getting a message that I need to put the nav element directly after the link in the header. I repositioned a couple of times and can see what I've done wrong.

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
        <nav><ul></ul></nav>
      </a>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

You're really close on this one!Just drop the nav below the anchor tag and above the closing header tag like so:

<header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
       <nav>
       <ul></ul>
       </nav>
    </header>
    <section></section>

You are the best! Thanks!

No worries! that's what the forum is for. Happy coding!
