You will need to iterate over months via a for-in loop. Use index to hold the value and test index within the if statements instead of months. Also, the last two tests were using only one = and you should use two == .

  let months = [1, 2, 3]
    for index in months {
      if index == 1 { println("January")   }
      else if index == 2 { println("February")   }
      else if index == 3 { println("March")   }
