Once I pay for the webhosting for student access... there's no next steps that can follow along with the lesson. Scam?

Why aren't the next steps after payment available?

If you're looking for a reliable hosting service that is very affordable and accommodating for smaller needs, check out DigitalOcean. They offer hourly rates, instead of monthly rates. What this means is you can actually pause a server at any time and your payment is halted, as well.

The cheapest package they offer is 0.007 cents an hour ($5.00/mo). The server itself is completely bare, so if you're interested in Linux servers, DigitalOcean allows you SSH access to a whole array of different server OS's. They basically give you a VPS for $5.00/mo.

Another hosting service I've heard is very similar to DigitalOcean, is a company called Linode. They are a bit more expensive monthly, but they offer hourly rates, as well. I've also heard they offer better server specs.

Hi Nick,

Congratulation, you can now email to our Treehouse support of what to do next - help@teamtreehouse.com. They will guide you. Many students here are currently using webhosting for WordPress projects. :)
