Only partial instructions in the video

I would like to know why we were not told to type in <html></html> BEFORE we type in <h1></h1> so we don't keep getting code in the preview. This is a beginning course in html. You cannot assume we know anything about coding. Nor can you assume we are going to remember the way everything needs to be set up after we have listened to a one minute course the day before. This is a foundational class.

While I was able to find the answer to my problem in the forum in a few minutes, this shouldn't have been a problem. Even more confusing, I would like to know how the code is not showing on the example in the follow along video. We only see <h1>Nick Petitt</h1>. We do not see the additional code that needs to be written. Honestly, this should be drummed into our heads again and again. This is a language course. We need a foundational level of rules. They cannot be glossed over, nor can they be skipped. I'm taking these courses so I can expand my knowledge and get better freelance jobs, in addition to creating my own websites. I need to know I am getting all the information. I don't want Treehouse to assume I have some coding background. I want Treehouse to assume I have no experience and need to learn from scratch. Not from mid-scratch.

Jeff, I could drum it into my head for eternity but based on the Follow Along video, I would never have known that I needed the additional code. The video was not going too fast, the video left out a pertinent piece of information. You are missing the point of my comment. And to suggest I watch a video over and over again but try with different examples does not actually make any sense. What different examples can be seen on the same video?

You're right, I am missing the point.

I started on treehouse with absolutely zero coding experience and felt the courses went at the perfect pace. Use your pause button if the video is going to fast. Save code from the previous video and build on top of it in the next. If you need the material drummed into your head, watch the video over and over again but try with different examples.
