Other than the logo, are color and typography the most important elements of brand identity?

If you can only tackle brand and color, is that enough for a brand identity?

A brand identity usually encompasses a few key components or visual devices that are used within a "brand".

Such as • Logotype and/or icon which symbolizes the entire brand • custom or approved typefaces and fonts • any stationery • business cards • marketing collateral • signage • written slogans • color palette • and other devices

I would advise taking a quick read of Jacob Cass's thorough article on the difference between Branding, Identity & Logo Design.

Jacob is a great designer and really sums this up nicely in a clear way.

Its a fun read.

Typography is one of -if not the- most important elements in any graphic design work. It doesn't matter what you're trying to say if no one can read it.
