Dear Josh,

For your first problem, you close your curly brace for @media screen and (min-width: 480px) to early. It should be closed after selector .profile-photo, not #secondary. That's why you css for .profile-photo behaves differently as it is not inside @media screen and (min-width: 480px).

For the second problem, I can't get your question. It is design intention to have nav with two background color for screen below 480px. For screen above 660px, your code works perfectly fine.
