Photoshop Elements 12

I am using Photoshop Elements 12 and its so totally different from the one that being used for this lecture - in the previous video my Elements failed to even break down the layers of the logo and I nearly gave up following this course. Does anybody else have this problem?

I ended up using a free 30 day trial of the full Photoshop suite. Elements is just not complete enough for this course.
