PHP creating website challenge help

I just finished the 'Building websites with PHP section and I am trying the challenge at the end of the course. I can't seem to figure out how to do this, it seems like to me the problem wasn't well defined or explained, for instance I don't know what flash messages are, how they work or where/when to implement them. I am also having trouble understanding the 'twig include' and 'slim flash messages' explanations on those links that were sent. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
