C# C# Objects Encapsulation and Arrays Ternary If

I've never really been sure what the . is in the code for example path.length (where did that come from?) Please Help

The . in C# (or all languages that can do Object Oriented Programming) is known as dot notation. This is used to access properties or methods on the object. So, in your example, the object path (which looks to be a variable) has a property on it called length.
