Python Python Basics (2015) Letter Game App Even or Odd Loop

Please help. I think I'm close but I'm not so sure :(

Please help. Can you please check if my code is correct so far. Also, how do I decrement start by 1. Is it just start = start - 1?

even.py
import random

start = 5

def even_odd(num):
    # If % 2 is 0, the number is even.
    # Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not.
    return not num % 2

while True:
    num = random.randint(1,99)
    if even_odd(num):
        print("{} is even".format(num))
    else:
        print("{} is odd".format(num))

Very close:

import random

start = 5

def even_odd(num):
    # If % 2 is 0, the number is even.
    # Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not.
    return not num % 2

while True:  # while start:
    num = random.randint(1,99)
    if even_odd(num):
        print("{} is even".format(num))
    else:
        print("{} is odd".format(num))
    # you need to decrement 'start' here otherwise your while-loop will never end
