Please help me for the answer in this challenge!

Add a conditional statement inside the onreadystatechange event handler that tests to make sure the server has sent back its complete response.

app.js
var xhr = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhr.onreadystatechange = function() {
  if (xhr.readyState === 4) {
      if (xhr.status === 200) {
        document.getElementById('ajax').innerHTML = xhr.responseText;
      } else {
        alert(xhr.statusText);
      }
};
xhr.open('GET', 'sidebar.html');
xhr.send();
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
  <meta charset="utf-8">
  <title>AJAX with JavaScript</title>
  <script src="app.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
  <div id="main">
    <h1>AJAX!</h1>
  </div>
  <div id="sidebar"></div>
</body>
</html>

Use && instead of two if statments. You also got the wrong target in getElementById :)

var xhr = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhr.onreadystatechange = function() {
   if (xhr.readyState === 4 && xhr.status === 200)
   {
      document.getElementById('sidebar').innerHTML = xhr.responseText;
   }

};
xhr.open('GET', 'sidebar.html');
xhr.send();
