You were close. You don't need include the value attribute in the close option. Also you need to close your select tag

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>HTML Forms</title>
  </head>
  <body>

    <form action="index.html" method="post">
      <h1>Shirt Order Form</h1>
     <label for="color"> Shirt Color:</label>
      <select id="color" name="shirt_color">
        <option value="red"> Red </option> <!-- removed value attribute -->
        <option value="yellow"> Yellow </option>
        <option value="purple"> Purple </option>
        <option value="blue"> Blue </option>
        <option value="green"> Green </option>
        <option value="orange"> Orange </option>
      <!-- Added select closing tag -->
      </select>
      <button type="submit">Place Order</button>
    </form>

  </body>
</html>

For future questions, if you add the issue in the title it will help other students with similar issues and probably get you faster responses.

Good luck with the rest of the course!
